Description
The Funeral Service Education program prepares you to perform the duties of a funeral director. You can learn how to provide support to the bereaved, arrange funeral ceremonies, and assist families with filing legal documents. Funeral directors are members of the health and human services profession which combines the funeral services career, with it's regulatory guidelines and public health laws, along side of the services provided to the community at large. The program consists of a combination of general education and funeral service education courses with related laboratory experience, and qualifies students to take the California Board Examination to become a licensed embalmer.
