Chemical Dependency StudiesJob Certificate Program Detail Page

The program in Chemical Dependency Studies focuses on the skills and abilities necessary to provide comprehensive drug and alcohol counseling. Coursework includes applied knowledge and skills in addiction screening, intake, assessment, orientation, counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, client education, client rights, confidentiality, professional ethics, and reports and record keeping. Upon completion of the program students possess the coursework required for initial certification as a California Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CDAC).
