The Nutrition and Foods program prepares students for a wide range of careers and at different levels of employment. There is an increasing demand for expertise in the dietary treatment and management of diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, nutritional genomics, elderly nutrition, and plant-based/healthy nutrition. So there are career opportunities across the field of science, medicine, education, food service management, and sports medicine and weight management.
The associate degree program offers coursework in nutrition principles, food science and food preparation, and provides the necessary education and training for students with plans to transfer to four-year institution to continue their studies.
