The degree and certificate in Community Studies are applied sociology programs which prepare students for entry-level employment in direct services provided at public, private and nonprofit community service organizations. Graduates will be qualified as paraprofessionals at the assistant level under the supervision of workers with a professional degree. Duties may include resource development and referral, client screening, assessments, consultation, report writing, and record keeping.
