Description
Pharmacy technicians are skilled technical health workers who perform a wide variety of pharmacy related tasks under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Successful completion of the program qualifies students for registration with the California State Board of Pharmacy and prepares graduates for entry-level pharmacy technician positions. Students can also pursue further education and become a pharmacist.
Pharmacy technicians work in a variety of settings including community and retail pharmacies (drug stores, grocery and retail stores), hospitals, home health care, military, long-term care facilities, managed health care facilities, and education/training programs.
